Were our Hearts Not Burning? (Lk 24:32)

Q: What does the Devil think about Benedict XVI?

A:     Fr. Francis Mary from EWTN gave a wonderful Homily on April 26, 2005. He had been in St. Peter's Plaza when the Pope was elected. He rightfully rejoices at the rejoicing of the many young people that filled the Plaza during that moment.

I was impressed by a conversation he had with a priest who filled the office of exorcist, who testified how Mary had obliged the demon who possessed its victim to confess, "We tried to stop it," referring to the nomination of Pope Benedict. The demon, in a sort of "yelping" or "screeching" as he repeated it over and over, and confessed to the power of Mary.

I attempted to compile the specific three minutes of his homily, in which he discusses this, in a form accessible to Windows Media Player. Apologies for any deficiencies in my efforts. You can hear these three minutes here: [We Tried to Stop It!]. [1]

The entire homily can be heard here (requires Real One Player), which I have downloaded from the original web site. You can go to the EWTN web site, remember to scroll down to April 26, 2005 to hear his homily: http://www.ewtn.com/vondemand/audio/seriessearchprog.asp?seriesID=9957&T1=Mass.

Compliments to EWTN for their superb work in using the media to spread the message of the Gospel. Ad multos annos.
