Be not afraid
You fear the night, you fear the bush, you fear a fight, what don’t you fear?
You fear the cross, you fear all plight you fear the loss one whose dear.
You fear betrayal, you fear cold treason, from brother or friend in every season.
What you most fear is your own fear. Why fear anything? Fear fears fear.
In bush and night in pain and cross, in flight and fight, in treason and loss,
two eyes of peace behold your heart, you’re seen by Calm who designs your chart.
Nothing disturbs you, still when all’s a mess. Nothing perturbs you, still when all’s distress.
You think all’s lost, then you hear said God’s words of truth, “Be not afraid!”
